【Original】【Romantic Love Stories】【Do Everything to Love You】 Chapter 9: Spare Me a Few Million
Yin Shaojie withdrew his gaze and turned to the driver. “How much?”
The driver, who had assumed he wouldn’t be paid, brightened immediately at the question. “Four hundred and eighty yuan!”
“Wasn’t it forty-eight?! You—” Xiaoxiao, fuming, was about to lash out when Yin Shaojie stopped her.
“Four hundred and eighty, huh? Are you wishing for death?” Yin Shaojie asked with an affable smile, but in the next moment, his long leg lashed out, kicking the driver to the ground.
With a pained cry, the driver rolled over, wailing, “He’s hitting me! Somebody help! He’s hitting me! Save me!”
Yin Shaojie looked down at him with cool indifference, a cold smirk tugging at his lips. “Hitting you? That’s too tame. How about I try killing for fun?”
As he said this, he glanced at Xiaoxiao, a mischievous glint in his eyes, as though this were all just an amusing game.
Xiaoxiao shot him a sidelong glance, fully aware he was just trying to scare the driver. Too tired to play along, she muttered lazily, “Hurry up. I need to sleep.”
But the sinister undertone in Yin Shaojie’s voice made the driver’s heart skip a beat. Panic crept in unbidden.
Moments later, the nightclub’s security guards arrived on the scene.
Just as the driver thought salvation had come, he watched in horror as the guards approached Yin Shaojie with deference, bowing slightly. “Young Master Jie, is there a problem? Do you need us to handle it for you?”
Still sprawled on the ground, the driver’s face went pale. He immediately realized he had messed with the wrong person. What he had hoped would be a simple scam for money had become a disaster.
“S-sorry, sir! I’m fine now. Can we just let this go? You’ve already hit me, so I won’t even ask for the fare anymore. Let’s call it even, alright?”
Yin Shaojie didn’t bother sparing him a glance. He turned to the security guards instead. “This man tried to extort me—right outside your establishment, no less. I’ll leave it to you to deal with him.”
The nightclub, frequented by wealthy elites, was deeply protective of its reputation. They took such matters seriously.
“Don’t worry, Young Master Jie. We’ll ensure you’re satisfied with the outcome.”
With that, several guards seized the driver and dragged him away.
Xiaoxiao, curious, craned her neck to see. She watched as the driver was hauled into a shadowy alley. Moments later, faint screams reached her ears.
“Let’s go home.” Yin Shaojie draped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her away from the scene. “This isn’t something a little girl like you should witness.”
The valet brought his sleek sports car to the front.
Yin Shaojie ushered Xiaoxiao into the passenger seat, buckling her in before sliding into the driver’s seat himself. The growl of the engine roared to life, and the streamlined car swiftly sped away from the neon-lit street.
Xiaoxiao ran her hands over the luxurious interior, clicking her tongue in mock admiration. “This car must have cost a fortune. Such a wasteful spendthrift.”
Though she didn’t know much about cars, her time in America had shown her enough to recognize that this was a supercar—easily worth millions.
Yin Shaojie smirked, his lips curling slightly. “Expensive? Not really. Just a few million.”
She rolled her eyes at him. “A few million isn’t expensive? Then give me a few million to spend!”
Stretching out her palm, she gestured for him to hand over the money.
Driving with one hand, Yin Shaojie lightly slapped her palm with the other. “And why should I give you anything? Your dad’s loaded—ask him instead.”
“Stingy jerk!” Xiaoxiao shot him a glare but didn’t bother responding further.
Before long, they arrived at Yin Shaojie’s high-end apartment complex.
Pulling into the underground garage, Yin Shaojie parked the car and glanced over to find Xiaoxiao nodding off, her small head tilted to one side in drowsy slumber.
