Yun Men Extends Both Hands

Yun Men asked a monk, "Where did you come here from?"

The monk said, "Hsi Ch'an."

Yun Men said, "What words and phrases are there at Hsi Ch'an these days?"

The monk extended both hands.

Yun Men slapped him once.

The monk said, "I'm still talking."

Yun Men then extended his two hands. The monk was speechless, so Yun Men hit him.
