Zenland is a smart contract escrow platform for safe and trustless
A DApp is executed and stored on a blockchain network, commonly using Ethereum but now utilizing various tokens native to other networks as well. Cryptographic tokens are used to validate the app and are required to access the application.
In many ways, DApps are quite similar to conventional apps, as they both render web pages using the same front-end code. If you’re still wondering what DApps are, it’s the back-end code that makes them different, since they run on decentralized P2P networks.
While traditional applications are supported by centralized servers, DApps are supported by smart contracts stored on a blockchain. When it comes to using smart contract technology, the most popular blockchain to date is Ethereum, though competitors are numerous and proliferating
Zenland
Zenland is a smart contract escrow platform for safe and trustless peer-to-peer trade without a middleman. Unlike traditional escrow systems where payment is kept by a third party, Zenland users store payment inside a smart contract deployed on the public blockchain without any third party involved.
Our smart contract application is the first to introduce a complete escrow ecosystem with built-in contract templates (2 at this point), a UI to manage contracts, and a contract chat keeping all transaction logs and messages. It is currently deployed on Gnosis Chain along with other EVM networks.
Zenland has officially launched 4 weeks ago after 10 months of bootstrapped development and 5 months of testing. This proposal is made to support further development and kickoff adoption of the platform in exchange for Zenland Fee ($ZENF) token allocation.
Motivation
To facilitate Gnosis Chain adoption through the use of its smart contracts for regular product and service sales and purchases between cryptocurrency users. Because gas fees for deployment and execution of smart contracts on Gnosis Chain are lower than most L1 and L2, it can become the go-to network for Zenland users.
Another goal is to attract users (buyers and sellers) to Zenland to promote its popularity and grow a loyal community of early adopters. In the future, this will also increase Zenland Fee ($ZENF) token utility and ultimately benefit our smart contract platform and its token holders.
Background
Zenland concept was born from my own experience in online commerce (P2P, C2C) for over a decade now. The problem our platform is trying to solve is trust. There is no known trustless escrow in traditional markets - even with Escrow.com the user trusts the platform itself with the money.
With smart contracts we built, any two people can buy and sell a product or service with crypto without trusting the platform or each other. The contract keeps the buyer’s payment inside a blockchain until the seller fulfills the conditions.
Specification
GnosisDAO invests 100k xDAI (or any other stablecoin) in return for an equivalent worth of ZENF tokens at the time of its token mint (planned for Q1 2023) vested over 12 months to GnosisDAO.
Received funds will be used evenly for the development and testing of the escrow marketplace and for implementing our niche marketing and adoption strategy*.
Funds are projected for a duration of 6 months (January - June 2023).
The launch of the public marketplace and the first mint of the ZENF token are the key milestones.
Deployment to Gnosis Chain and its UI integration are among the deliverables of this GnosisDAO proposal.

Development and testing allocation (50k xDAI or any other stablecoin) include tooling & infrastructure cost, 2 full-time developers, 1 full-time QA, smart contract audits, bug bounty campaigns)
Marketing allocation (50k xDAI or any other stablecoin) includes sponsored post submissions, PR, traditional online ads, community rewards, and influencer marketing.
Rationale
We believe in the power of smart contracts to bridge web2 and web3 in one of the areas with the most risk and centralization - peer-to-peer trade. From our experience in online commerce, trust between peers is hard to verify and smart contract escrow has untapped potential to change how people trade P2P.
Additionally, recent socioeconomic and technological changes create an opportunity for mass adoption of escrow smart contracts given the execution is fast and affordable (that implementation of Gnosis Chain ensures).
People are more careful about which platform to use and what data to share.
Thus, are more likely to adopt web3 applications. Nearly all existing P2P systems are outdated, costly, and lack the infrastructure for cryptocurrency payments. While Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist is full of fake profiles and fraudulent chargebacks, Fiverr and Escrow.com are high-priced and limited to certain geographies/types of products.

ZENF TOKEN
Zenland platform generates revenue from the service fees per each contract deployed. Topping up internal wallets with ZENF token to pay the service fee the users will get an additional 50% to their balances. It is designed to improve escrow smart contract availability to more users.
The proposed date for token mint is planned for Q1 2023. GnosisDAO will receive 100k worth of ZENF tokens on the token mint (the cheapest price the token will ever be sold at).
