She quit school at age 11 to work as shop assistant she owns 7% Inditex (holding company of Zara) after their divorce in 1986. When Rosalia died at age 69 in 2013 she was the richest female self-made billionaire in the world. Their daughter Sandra Ortega now owns Rosalia Mera’s shares of Zara and Inditex.
