Steemmarketing Outreach: Why Zappl Rocks!
Steemmarketing Outreach: Why Zappl Rocks!
Our goal here at Steemmarketing is to help you onboard new users to the Steemit platform and help you help them to get their feet wet. We have already told you about Steepshot and now we want to explain why Zappl Rocks!
If you haven't had a chance to read about Steepshot, take a look at our post here. The rest of us should proceed right to Zappl.
Zappl is a Twitter clone that runs on the Steem Blockchain. It's nothing more than a microblogging app but for marketing purposes it's brilliant. Here's why.
Why Is Zappl Such A Big Deal for Steemit Marketers?
Unless you've been living under a rock for the last decade you know the value of Twitter to social media. It may not be the sexiest app anymore because it is filled with noise and has lost so much ground to Instagram and Snapchat but Twitter has done us a great service here on Steemit.
Twitter has gone ahead and trained millions of potential Steemians how to microblog and express themselves in 140 characters or less. Let's face it, if you have done any outreach for Steemit there are a lot of pain points when trying to help prospective members wrap their heads around blockchain, crypto and let alone blogging on the blockchain.
Showing people Zappl and explaining how it is just like Twitter immediately eases their doubts about whether crypto investing is something they have the aptitude for. A huge hurdle is jumped and they can be up and "Tweeting" as soon as their account is approved.
Onboarding Crypto Investors has been quite simple for us here at Steemmarketing because they are interested in the blockchain itself and their earning potential. Individual users who are inexperienced in Crypto provide a lot more resistance because they think it is too hard to and fear investing in something they don't know anything about.
Sure, Steemit is a social media platform like Medium and bloggers are ready to jump right in but not everyone is a blogger and finding your voice isn't always easy for Newbies. But tell them they can invest and Tweet their way to earnings and it's a much easier sell.
Demonstrating Zappl as your intro to Steemit is far easier than Steemit itself. I grant you that if you have an Android phone their is nothing easier than giving a Steepshot Demo to a crowd but we've been over that one.
I Know What You're Thinking But You're Wrong.
Look, I know many of you are thinking that "Tweeting" on Steemit is lazy and this is a place to create and curate top quality content and you are right to some degree but you are mostly wrong. We have to look at the big picture and that's what we do here at Steemmarketing. Our outreach serves to bring in new members, investors and contributors to grow the community in a way that will benefit everyone financially.
Remember, we are all still early adopters and there is room for every type of social app on the steem blockchain. The original idea here is still to enable people to become entrepreneurs and build things on the blockchain that scale. Zappl is a perfect example of this.
The drawback to Zappl and other apps like Dtube, Dlive. Dsound, Dmania & Steepshot is that each post will also show up on your Steemit blog. That's definitely a nuisance and doesn't look clean but it is just part of the growth process. If you are concerned about turning off your followers with different types of content muttering your "voice" on Steemit then you may want to skip these apps. But I would not get too hung up on aesthetic so early in development. After all, Steemit is still in Beta and this can be addressed.
Why Zappl Is Great For Newbies
Being a Plankton or a Minnow can be really frustrating here. The learning curve is steep unless you have some help and apps like Zappl eliminate a lot of the early frustrations for people. They also allow new members to recruit their followings from Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and Soundcloud much easier than a blog does. The first thing people want when they join here is success and let's face it, it is hard to get attention here when you have no Steem Power or followers. It's far easier to learn the ropes around here when you doing what you were already doing on Twitter.
Zappl pro Tip: One of the coolest things about Zappl is that if you use the hashtag #zappl, your post will get an upvote and reward for @zappl. I have even seen @zappl upvote comments early on after posting. They are trying to encourage use of their app and that is a great thing for encouraging Minnows.
Remember what we always say her at Steemmarking : Return On Community Is Greater Than Return On Investment. ROC>ROI
