He has no idea what his ignorance does to others. I am in deep south Georgia right now. I already heard a group of old men having breakfast - very racist old men - say, "he is pretty smart for a nigra" , "they need to listen to that colored boy" and "he is right. We didn't keep them slaves, they wanted us to keep them. The war (civil) wasn't over slavery." That is just a sampling after they heard him say what he did about slavery and choice.
I think he is seeking attention and being controversial so we can talk about him and buy his yet to be launched album. It's a smart game he is playing
Yep, very smart for him - at least for now. I don't think he knows he is reinforcing stereotypes and destructive ideology in deep red, bible belt, neo confederate bastions like Alabama and some of Georgia. Minorities don't have it great here. He really struck a nerve with the "the civil war wasn't about slavery" and "slavery was good for black folks" bunch here. They love him now.
Unfortunately people like Kanye put money and power in-front of everything else- they don't give a damn who gets hurt or if they open old wounds. They have to get what they want at all costs.
