The science of skin
Understanding Skin and Skin Function | Skin (Integumentary) is the outermost protective layer of our body. The skin has a very vital function for the body system. Every day there are millions of damaged skin cells and must be renewed because they constantly receive various mechanical stimuli from the body. The skin consists of two layers, namely Epidermis (outer layer), and Dermis (korium) or inner layer. The outer layer consists of several layers, namely: stratum corneum (layer of substance horns) that die and always peel, stratum lusidum, stratum granulosun containing pigment, and stratum germinativum is a layer that always form the cells outwards.
