How to get there
Option 1: DIY
Manila – General Luna – Maniwaya Island
Ride a bus in Cubao (Superlines and AB Liner buses) going to Catanuan. Travel time is about 5-6 hours and the fare starts at PHP320.00. Don’t forget to advise the conductor to drop you off at General Luna Crossing. Just 5 minutes away from General Luna is the port to Maniwaya, charter a tricycle going to the port.
Take note that there is only one departure daily going directly to Maniwaya Island at 10AM, travel time is approximately 1 hour and fare is PHP150.00/person one-way. You can also rent a small boat that can ferry to 4-5 people going to Maniwaya for PHP1,500.00.
Option 2: Via tour agencies
You can book your tour with Wawie’s Beach Resort on Facebook. It’s how we got our tour and it’s the best way to travel since you don’t have to think about your itinerary or where to go and what to do. Travel agencies can provide you the complete transportation and accommodations. Travel more in a less hassle way.
Where to stay
There are a lot of beach resorts scattered in Maniwaya that you can choose from. We stayed at Wawie’s Beach Resort since we got our tour from them. But if you’re DIY-ing the cheapest rate will be the tent accommodation, and there are fan rooms and air conditioned rooms available too.
