YouTube Channel Recommendation - Blender Guru

in #youtube7 years ago

A few weeks ago I downloaded and started using Blender to create some 3D Models. I did that after a friend of mine advised me to try some new things to see if there's something else I like besides what I already do.

So, I downloaded it, started playing around with a cube and then searched for a tutorial on YouTube. That's how I found the channel I want to recommend in this article, Blender Guru, filled with all kind of tutorials about how to use Blender.

Here's the link for those of you interested in this particular topic: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOKHwx1VCdgnxwbjyb9Iu1g

I started, of course, with the beginner tutorial where I learned how to make a scene with a few Doughnuts and a coup on a table. It helped me get from not knowing absolutely anything about 3D and Blender to being able to make this:

If you are interested in learning how to create 3D elements in Blender. I really think you should check the channel above and watch at least the beginner tutorial!

Kudos for trying it out! Blender is incredible, and it blows my mind that basically a complete visual effects pipeline is FREE.

Did you enjoy the process? I haven't used it in a while but i remember when I learned it that some of the UI seemed counterintuitive at first but like most things, the more you practice, the more natural it feels.

It is indeed impressive how many amazing things you can achieve with something free. I had no idea what Blender can do when I first started, and when I saw the work of some really good artists online, I just couldn't believe it.

And yes, I really enjoyed the process. Since I never used a 3D software before, the interface seemed okay to me, because I couldn't compare it to anything else, and Photoshop wouldn't be a good thing to compare it with. Anything else was just great. I saw some people online complaining about the constant crashes and all kind of bugs, but I never encountered anything like that. Blender just seems like a great software in general.

I'm practicing from time to time, when I'm not working, and while there are things that are yet fairly hard to understand, like texturing in some cases and UV Unwrapping, the final result always motivates me to stick to whatever I'm doing until I'm done :)

Also, Andrew Price is fantastic and it would be great to see him here on Steemit and DTube!
