The Various Species of YouTube Commenters, Contribute by @TangerineTravels
We recently hit the milestone of our first 1,000,000 views on YouTube. Over the course of those million views, we've pinpointed a handful of different types of commenters. In this post, we'll be covering some of those categories.
Pleasant Peter
Pleasant Peters watch every single one of our videos and always leaves a nice comment. Peter's comments always make us smiles because they're almost exclusively positive comments. The comment might be complimenting our video, complimenting one of us, making a joke, or simply saying thanks. We love having Pleasant Peters around because they give us a little extra motivation to continue making videos.
Criticizing Christian
Christian never has anything good to say about our videos but comments on every single one saying we didn't do something well enough. Criticizing Christian never compliments us and constantly criticizes. Nothing is ever good enough for them, yet they continue watching. After working so hard on every video, it gets frustrating quickly to have this kind of person around.
The Comedian
We love the comedian. He leaves a comment on every video and it's always funny. Only a handful of people have the skills necessary to be a comedian but we love having them around.
First
First spends their entire life on YouTube, although we're not sure if they ever watch any videos. The moment we publish a new video on YouTube, several people will immediately comment "First." I don't understand it, but hey! YouTube views it as a positive sign of engagement. So by all means, please keep trying to be First.
Question Quintin
As his name implies, Quintin is always asking questions. There's nothing wrong with that, he's watching our videos for a reason - to learn. With the curiosity of a young child, Question Quintin is constantly in search of new knowledge.
Laska Lover
Laska Lovers only watch our videos in hopes of seeing the star of the channel, Laska. If Laska doesn't show up in an episode, Laska Lover comments asking "What happened to Laska?" or "Laska, are you okay?!"
This is only a portion of the personalities that we see on our YouTube channel. We actually think it's pretty entertaining that we can put so many of our frequent commenters into one of these categories.
It's easy to be more negatively affected by 1 mean comment than the opposite effect of 10 nice comments. Thankfully, we have a lot more Pleasant Peters than Criticizing Christians. Getting so many wonderful comments means a lot to us after putting so much into each of our videos.
I wonder what people gain by criticizing. If they don't understand, why can't they ask questions instead? Well, they are needed for YouTube engagement but then, they are frustrating.
Different types of people watch your videos and through this you get to know that even if you do the best things in your life for some people, they would still criticise and you do just what didnt even worth thank for some people, they would appreciate and thats life
