It’s morning!

Through the dark night,

Through the dark valley,

With hearts full of hopes,

We await the coming dawn.

Waiting waiting…

For the shining of olorun’s golden light on the banks of the benue,

For the coloring of its muddy banks with a golden haze,

We await the moment when night takes leave of dawn and olorun kisses yemoja farewell,

Chasing esu to the crossroads from whence he comes.

It’s morning.

Foot note: Yemoja is the yoruba goddess of the moon. Esu is the god of crossroads, a trickster.

I couldn’t find a yoruba sun god so I used olorun the sky god.
