Mother-Tongue
All over the world, February 21th every year is dedicated to the celebration of our Indigenous languages. The theme for this year's celebration “PRESERVING LINGUISTIC DIVERSITY AND PROMOTING MULTILINGUALISM TO SUPPORT THE SDG" was chosen to find solution to the dwindling fortunes of most minority languages of the world.
The essence is to give credence to relative Indigenous languages, in that case it aim at reviving indigenous languages. Everyone is encouraged to speak his or her mother tongue. Is also to encourage people to realise that their language is as important as their culture.
The intergenerational transmission of our local languages is the key to the vitality of mother language. Let us start with our children, let them see the essence in being proud of who they are through the language they speak. The time is now,let us speak our own songs and make our voices heard in our mother languages.
Don't kill your mother-tongue! Speak your mother-tongue. If you hand it over to your next generation it will remain a living and thriving language. If you break it's transmission to the next generation,it will become a moribund language which is the first step to it death.
DON'T CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEATH OF YOUR MOTHER-TONGUE RATHER CONTRIBUTE TO ITS DEVELOPMENT.
Keep speaking your dialet
