Progress Report for 23rd of July, 2018

I'm tired.

Sick and tired of queries.

I've had my fill of queries.

Full of hopes...and dread worries.

I'm tired.

Tired of being so mired.

Tired of manuscripts unacquired.

Let's face it: I'm tired.

I've queried thousands of men.

Again and again.

They sing the same tune.

They compare you with Byron and Shelley

Then jump on your belly

And burst your balloon.

Tired.

Tired of playing the game.

Ain't it a crying shame.

I'm. So. Tired.

Progress...of a Kind

Hello, everyone.

In case you skipped the beginning of this post to start reading here, I'll let you know up front that I'm feeling the grind.

Which is not to say that there has been no progress toward publication (there has). It's just that this process, which is a lengthy and often tedious affair, at times makes me a bit lethargic.

But that only means that the process is doing its job. The reason why publishing requires such patience and persistence is because those two qualities provide the perfect filter. By leaping these hurdles, I am paying my professional dues. Every writer has to go through it at some point, and knowing this makes the process easier...but not any less tiring.

And since I can't say anything definite, let me just tell you that I've gotten a little bit of good news, and a whole freakin' ton of no news.

Is That a Glimmer on the Horizon?

I'll be sure to keep you posted should anything definitive happen. Until then, let me just assure you that I am seeing things move. I've never put more effort into publication than I am putting in right now, and I am getting results that I have not gotten with previous books.

But I still don't have anything to announce. Until then, all I can document is the struggle itself. And that struggle is absolutely real.

I'm grateful to get encouragement from so many sources. Keep checking this space for updates, because good news could strike any day now.

In the meantime, thanks for reading.

@talanhorne,
Shall I tell you a thing to do! Until your publications approved by the publishers, you can write short stories and publish it here and at your web portal as well! Somehow it might make you few bucks and your stress level can be reduced as well! I wish you all the best friend!

Cheers~

I think you're one of the best quality steemit writers and maybe you can't find the result that you expect but in the final of road i'm sure you will be succesful :). Regards

Fatigue is a defensive reaction of the body, arising at the thought that something must be done. I think you need to distract yourself, just relax in nature, will be charged with energy from it.

Oh yes, my friend, I understand your condition and how you rightly noticed, every writer must pass through it. You are a talented person and it is always interesting to read your messages, so I wish you more success and a wonderful inspiration, we are always with you! Thank you @talanhorne

Good afternoon @talanhorne, you are a talented man, you are also young so you are impatient, try to be a little more patient, accept me the advice, I have
the experience that the years give.
Blessings:)

lol those pics are very funny, especially the third one. This litle puppie is sooo cute and even he is very patient. It feels like publishing takes as long as writing the book itself. I like your positivity and I can’t wait when this “day” comes. I will honestly be very happy for you.

@talanhorne
