When you leave a comment, you are getting a valuable platform to improve your social standing and connections on Steemit. Good comments stand out, and they get both upvotes and followers as a result. Not only that, you are given a chance to directly influence the creation process of the people you comment on. Your tips might make their content even better to read or work with, win/win!

It's not Easy Being Steem

One of the selling points of Steemit, it's large variety of content, can also be a downside in cases like this. To leave valuable feedback, you'll need to take your time to read the post through in many cases. This can be complicated when you're on a schedule looking for the next curation reward, or a short lunch break!

Fear not, there's alternatives that we'll get to in the next paragraph. First, let's have a look at how to give full feedback, after thoroughly reading a post.

First of all, try to make it a positive experience for the both of you - you're growing the network here, remember!

Tell them what they did right.
Did they use good headers? Was their content pleasant to read? Did you feel amused at any point? All valuable to tell the poster, they'll be able to do more of it later!

What can they improve?
Would you like them to look into their spelling? Are their posts giant walls of text with no image or header to be seen? Let them know!

All in all, you enjoyed it, right?
Why else would you be taking the time to help them help yourself? Let them know! Tell them there's value in the both of you uplifting each other.

Even in a rush, you can still help others and yourself to some valuable feedback. How, you might ask? The answer is quite simple, tell them what their content looks like, feels like, and brings out on a first impression. First impressions are everything when you try to stand out from the crowd and get readers hooked, feedback on how well or how poorly your content does this might well be the most practical one you'll ever get!
