The Journey to a Nigerain University and a quest for academic pursuit
INTRODUCTION
Over the years and since the technological advances and modern discoveries and colonization, there has been this quest for knowledge among the youth in all the continents of the world but our focus is going to be specifically faced on the Nigerian method/system of education and what it encompasses
There is no gainsaying that no body is an island of knowledge because this is already apparent to our cognizance however there are still some genius who in all ramifications prove to be a perfect epitome to their successors as result emerging as models that aspirants look up to.
WHAT EDUCATION IS REALLY ALL ABOUT
TO me eduction can be best defined as a system of organized, structured and well defined discoveries and advances aimed at inculcating in the minds and psyches of all who seek for it in order to get them imbibed in its fullness
But the recent vices in the Nigerian institutions seem to contradict this sensible definition in a very broad and massive sense.
If one is asked "why do you want to be educated" i think this question will give birth to diversifying answers.
Some may want to be educated simply because they just don't want to be called illiterates
To some it is because they want to occupy the highest profile seats and honours in the society
Some want to be educated just to help their parents run their already acquired businesses and manage their wealths
You may have a different answer to this question but i recommend you use the comment box in order to get us more informed
But i know i want to be educated simply because i do not want to be looked down on, maltreated by the profound and renowned societal individuals, have my own unique principles and privacy, not want to be jeopardized with and finally to increase my love for knowledge and be more advanced in handling the challenges and life's experiences.
One can be educated in two main forms;
Formally and informally
The formal way of getting someone educated is through a well system of organized sensitized and experienced teachers, lecturers, professors who have the impacting and lecturing abilities and all what it takes to answers the inquisitive answer of the students longing to advance in knowledge.
But the informal method is wholly acquired from one's life experiences such as travelling, exercises, working, marketing and all life's scopes.
Having refreshed your memory on what you've already known, it is time to share my view to see if you propose or oppose my points.
*You're welcome to the university but you must meet the following requirements
Having finished your secondary and wants to continue with your academics, hope you wont hesitate to go pick a jamb form in order to get yourself registered for CBT UTME.
to further be successful hope your o'level grades are good?
To gain admission you have to get all of these at your fingertips;
- O'level result
- score high in your jamb examination
- Write post utme
- local government of origin
- birth certificate
- etc
Now that you have chosen or picked the form stating your university of choice it is time to go pick those old secondary school books and begin to re-study them again because if you don't do it then you are bound to fail
. i trust nigerain students for their studying capacities and so the journey begins immediately some will even go as far as registering into tutorial centres all to see to the success of the examination.
Here is this question that always comes to my mind. why don't jamb share scientific calculator to the science students in the hall since they feel they will cheat with theirs, why do they give us syllabus to read and they'll go about setting diffetent questions from different schemes i have heard students complain bitterly about all the processes and the unnecessary procedures taken to carry out the exam. After all of these processes, by God's grace, those who passed in flying colours and those who just slightly scored up to the cutt-off marks will begin to study again for post Utme.
Here i ask again
isn't the jamb exam enough to get someone admitted into his/her university of choice?
Now you have written the post utme and passed it very well but still you need to do something before being admitted have u paid the school VC some money so he can add your name in the admission list? If no, your admission is at stake. Fortunately you're admitted so you are welcome fully into the life of different challenges

IN nigeria good students are often being discouraged and threatened by lecturers who are supposed to be of help to them and in order not to fall into their trap, you must succumb to their demand to secure and guarantee you supposedly years of stay in school .
Every semester, as you are budgeting your school fees, you are equally budgeting sorting fees and other miscellaneous expenses in school this is how you'll continue until you successfully graduates from the university and some people's certificates will be withheld and you have to go back to school to settle your differences.
Finally you can be called a graduate
So u have to go and pick NYSC form to enrol into one year of service to your country and after which u pass out successfully and then you go look for a job

TO THE STYDENTS
√ NEVER GIVE UP NO MATTER THE CHALLENGES THAT STAND AS OBSTACLE TO YOU
√ ALWAYS HAVE A SET GOAL AND PURSUE IT TENACIOUSLY
√ DON'T ALLOW YOUR FRIENDS TO MAKE DECISIONS FOR YOU OR INFLUENCE YOU
I leave this words with you; "do not for one effect, give up the goals that you resolve to effect"
I still remain humble and expecting to learn more I am just
You made it look like it's the lecturers that compel students to sort courses... You have forgotten that most students are generally lazy and don't want to go through the stress of reading and preparing for exams, so they go after these lecturers, begging to sort their courses, even offering their bodies too.
Not really as u think @desmoniac you'd agree with me that most of the sorting encountered is generally devised by the lecturerers sorry to say that. But it is just the fact
Actually people study for so many reasons and I think I study to make myself competent to this growing world as well as gain mastery in the area I have choosen to make impact.
