The dashain festival

In Nepal, people celebrate Dashain once in a year. It is probably the longest festival in Nepal that lasts for fifteen days and is celebrated not only throughout the country but also in some other countries where Hindus have been living. There is a interesting story behind the celebration of Dashain festival. Goddess Durga ended the demonic monster and got victory over the evil. So people also celebrate it as victory of good over evil.

During Dashian people wear new clothes, receive tikka from their elder and also receive blessing along with some money. Many family member reunite and enjoy food and drinks together.
