The twin effect

What connects people together today is mostly defined by every content of yours that is possessed by the next person who happens to be your friend. Check out that close friend of yours or that new friend you just made, you will see that what strikes you is more than the different ways in which they carry themselves but in the sense that they have a lot more in common with you. Identical manner of speaking, same ideas, same field of study and maybe a twist of fate when you happen to share identical characteristics in minute details especially a birthday.
Beyond the surface, there is a piece of you in everyone and that can lead you into liking them, getting close to them to the extent of what you want in them. You understand them and they understand you as long as you have an alignment of interests, hobbies, tastes and thrills that excite you and put you on the same wavelength.
That is what starts friendship, it is what makes it tick. The feeling of being of the same material as the other person. When we key into it, great friendships are born.
