One very vital step in dealing with insecurities and having a good self image is self-acceptance.

In order for you to have a good self image, you need to first accept yourself for who you are. You may be ugly, one-legged, cross-eyed, blind, deaf, dumb, a stammerer e.t.c. You may be any of the afore-mentioned but you must not allow them to let you down.

One thing that is certain is that you cannot change your current form, even though you can with medical science, their methods are expensive. If you are going to be depressed because of the way you are or because of what people say about you then you are going to be depressed your whole life.

One thing I have noticed is that people don't react to you, they react to the self-image you present. Since you are the controller of that self-image, you are therefore the one who determines how people react to you.

One with a healthy self-image would always enjoy life while one with an unhealthy self-image would always be gloomy. In order for you to have a good self-image, you need to first accept yourself for who you are. You might be ugly, cross-eyed, a stammerer or have an ugly set of teeth. I need you to accept that first. I need you to look at yourself and accept your whole self: your flaws and all. I need you to accept them, the whole you.

Accept this and live your life. Accept the things you can't change and move forward. Accept this and you will find out that you will gradually start having a better self-image. It wouldn't take long before people would help you boost your self-image. You would find out that at the end of the day people don't give a damn about what you look like. People would start warming up to you, and not before long you would have a very solid self-image. So please accept yourself.
