THE JOURNEY OF A WRITER

In primary school, I joined literary and debating club and wrote a poem about butterflies which I remixed from one of my favorite nursery rhyme "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". My class teacher liked it, and promised me that it would make it to the school magazine, I was so happy and super excited,
but when the magazine came out, I checked from cover to cover but couldn't find my poem. It was a hurting experience, but then there was nothing I could do about it.
When I got to secondary school, I joined literary and debating club again. This time, I was not writing poems anymore, it was drama and public speaking.
In the hostel, I had written a couple of plays which I rented out to my mates for as low as N10. They really liked my mini script.
When it was time to submit entries for short plays that would make it to school magazine, I submitted what I thought was a great play and was confident I would make it. Alas, when the magazine came out, my name was missing again!!
Then in the University,
My chance to write in our departmental magazine flew out of the window too. This is how it happened:
I joined the University Dramatic/Debating club in my fresh man year, hoping to be a script writer. Due to my excessive obsession with seeing acting performed strictly in accordance with the written script, I was mistaken for a stage performer and was made an Actor and Director in a theatre competition. We won! And I was immediately inducted into the Drama and Theatre club, not as a script writer but as an actor.
That was how my chance of joining Writing/Debating club slipped away, and consequently, my chance of writing something that will be published in a magazine.
But you know what they say; when there is life, there is hope.

I stumbled on Steemit some months ago, I feel it's a better chance for me to amend my wrongs.To curate captivating contents that will be read by people of diverse taste and interest.
Contents that has the magnetic capacity of changing minds and projecting readers into action.
This is my chance! Even though I am not much of a writer anymore, I will try my best again. Let's hope I break the jinx this time,thereby making myself proud...

Of course,I will back all my contents with serious fasting and prayer so as to be accepted by a wider variety of people.
How many days will be enough? This battle must be won(Lols)..
