The first three hours
The first three hours
The first three hours Immediately, Jesus was offered vinegar with gall (Matthew 27.34). This is amazing! I reject it. Jesus
He rejected a pain reliever. I did not want an anesthetic. He was going to keep all His senses on alert, on the cross.
He didn't want to numb the pain, in exchange for giving in His faculties Pain and agony were not the problem on the cross. Jesus was the only person on the scene of the cross that knew what was happening.
As soon as they saw him on the cross, people began to shout in chorus to descend from it (Matthew 27.39–43;
Mark 15.29–32; Luke 23.35–37). Thieves too they joined the choir (Matthew 27.44; Mark 15.32; Luke 23.39).
What a most insolent cynicism! This is a sample of the more complete depravity of disbelief. How are you it happens to man to dictate to God the low conditions which you will believe! If Jesus had come down from the cross, sinners would have been condemned and left without hope. Jesus was born to die. Died for that we could be born to live (Romans 5.10). God, just and holy as He is, cannot forgive
No one without punishing sin. On Calvary, Jesus led The punishment for our sin. Even forgiven sins have consequences. In His first assertion on the cross, Jesus asked God that does not take into account this sin against His tormentors; however, their sin was the most great of all sins! God destroyed Jerusalem. In its biblical history, Judaism existed for only one purpose: the coming of the Messiah. Jesus came, fulfilling all the prophecies about the Messiah. They crucified him! Ironically, this made them fall out of purpose related to the Messiah. They rejected God as King of them, accepting César (John 19.14–15). They fell yet lower when they put on themselves the blood of Jesus and, to add to their sin, they put it on their children (Matthew 27.25)..
When Jesus spoke again, he addressed the thief that was on par with Him. When Jesus died for sins of all mankind, the most appropriate was that He will forgive a sinner. Study the dialogue that is presented in Luke 23.39–43. A thief found religion true while being executed. Amazing! Comes to the cross, and stay on the cross. The cross saved the thief; the
cross can save us! We can't be saved for ideas, not for thoughts, not for philosophies, or for mysticisms, not because of ignorance; Jesus is the only one who can save us!
Although he died in acute pain, Jesus He worried about His mother Mary. He told Juan to take care of her as her mother (John 19.26-27). Many believe thatJuan took her to his own home for the rest of his life.
Stop and think. Two of her children wrote later New Testament books (Santiago and Judas).
Maria and some of her children were present at the prayer service that was held in the upper room
in Jerusalem shortly after the resurrection of Jesus (Acts 1.13–14). It is obvious that they would take care of the Future needs of his mother. It was next to the cross where Maria needed help; exactly at the foot of the cross, in
That moment of the cross! This was his most difficult day, his Longest night What Jesus was saying was «No leave My mom alone! Golgotha is horrible. Crucifixion is more horrendous of what cinema can ever represent. God He did what only a Father full of love could do.
He allowed His Son to carry the divine sentence of sin; He hid His face from His Son.
