Some dissapointments are really blessings; A true life experience

Just like I stated in the title, this is a true life event.

Yesterday I made a post titled: Is every dissapointment really a blessing?

Today, I got my answer.

I was prompted to write that post after our business appointment got canceled yesterday for a near flimsy reason. This was after weeks of preparation and expending very scarce resources, monetary and otherwise. We had no choice than to hit the road this morning.

We got to the park a few minutes before 7am only to realize that the first bus was already filled up. We waited for about 4 hours before our own bus left the park. I was already so tired of sitting around waiting for the bus to get filled. I was already wishing we came out earlier, we would have left with the first bus.

My mentor who seemed to read my mind at that moment said to me: "I've never traveled this late ever. This is a first."

From there to our destination takes about 9 hours, give or take.

We finally hit the road at about 10:45 am. The journey was smooth. I blocked my ears with my headphones and started playing some music. That was a tradition for me. I wouldn't dare embark on a long journey without my headphones. That, and my fully charged phone are my loving companions anytime I travel.

After cruising for some hours, we met a diversion. The way the tyres were arranged to cut off traffic suggested that it was done recently and probably in a haste. I removed my headset and looked up. Chills ran down my spine.

Right in front of me was a gruesome accident scene. A bus rammed into a parked trucked by the side of the road.

It was the first bus that I was wished we boarded.

Our driver cleared and we got down. It was the same transport company so he had to do something.

From the look of things, the accident occurred not too long ago. The passengers were gathered by the roadside, some sitting and others standing. Some of them had minor bruises.

From their reports, we got to realize that 3 people met their demise in the accident - the 2 persons that sat beside the driver and one other person that sat behind them. I pinched myself.
My mentor's favorite spot was the front seat, beside the driver. Infact, that's where he was sitting in our own bus.

I looked at the mangled front part of the bus and imagined what would have happened if we were on that bus.

Thank you Jesus. Thank God for life. I'd rather arrive my destination late than end up late.

I heard one of the passengers telling one man from our bus: "Today's my wedding anniversary. I thank God for life."
She was a young lady, probably in her late 30s.

I then realized that the 4 hours of "waiting and sitting around" wasn't for nothing. In fact, our oversleeping and arriving the park late wasn't a mistake. It was a divine plan because God had made it crystal clear that we weren't dying today.

Now it's clear, some disappointments are not to our detriment, they might actually be stepping stones to greater things.

Some dissapointments are really blessings. Join me and thank God for life, also take a moment, reminisce and realize that it's the grace of God that has kept you this far.

Still me, #mapens.

Wow amazing life events @mapens. Sometimes we see misfortunes as signs of our enemies at work and begin to curse others who maybe innocent . I recall when i lost my account @steem4depoor i was in a state of devastating and accused anyone i felt once threatened me and didn't consider the fact that i was the master architect of my own downfall. But God being so good i recovered everything i lost in multiples. Yes i believe there is blessings in misfortunes. great post. Keep inspiring and using the #wafrica tag.
