The importance of proofing a printed book

My printer's proof of Rainbow Lullaby arrived today! I'm trying a new printer for this novel, and I was impressed by the overall quality of the cover, pages, and binding. The book looks nice and vibrant, and -- despite a weird and pointless table of contents added by one of the programs I used to create the file from which this was printed -- seems very readable.

Of course, even after going over and over this novel with a fine-tooth comb (with help from a good proofreader), there are errors. While none of these errors is too big a deal, I'm definitely inclined to correct them in both ebooks and any future printed copies. So that's how I spent my day: reading my own book and writing in corrections here and there with a ballpoint pen. However tedious, it's way better than ordering a big batch of books which all have minor errors in them: )
