That feeling of joy that he has wanted for so long, and that represents what he wants from life, this has not come to him by good fortune, is the constant effort he makes, to overcome his limitations, which has triggered an experience that goes beyond instant pleasure .
The state of flow can be defined as the state in which a person to be involved in the execution of a task that nothing think but to finish this activity, you process does not take into account the time, you can keep working without rest, does not consider the effort that carries with him, of course in this part must bear in mind that you should capacities for l activity. It was defined for the first time by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, he tries to understand the phenomenon of happiness, inquiring about the activities that produced enjoyment and the way in which people felt when they enjoyed themselves. With the various studies conducted, I conclude that the optimal experience is that when a person is so involved in an activity carried that nothing more seems to care. Let's talk a little about some aspects that I take into account in your studies, and that are necessary to buy the state of flow, or state of fluids.

Order in Chaos

He always has the desire for something else, he begins satisfying the physiological needs, once they have been covered, he develops more complex needs, that inexhaustible desire that something else can be done, new goals can be reached. It is difficult to be happy for what you have, if you are continually thinking of getting something else.
People are exposed to a massive amount of stimuli, and should be able to direct the course of events, and what information they are interested in conserving and using, who controls their attention, controls their awareness and thereby avoids distractions and concentrates for achieve their goals.
The struggle for happiness is constant, when we are able to organize our consciences, to maximize the situations of flow, the quality of life improves, since even routine matters of work or home can acquire a new purpose and become sources of enjoyment
Unlike the simple experimentation of pleasure, whose enjoyment is instantaneous and can be achieved without much effort, optimal experience requires complete attention, capable of reconfiguring consciousness and creating order in it. When someone has chosen a goal and gets involved in it to the limits of their concentration, whatever they do will be pleasant. And once you have tasted this enjoyment, you will double your efforts to try it again. Therefore, the experiences that make the mind flow allow the personality to grow and become more complex.

The Autotelic Experience

The autotelic word comes from the Greek words auto and telos which mean, respectively, "in it" and "finality". An autotelic experience is one in which the reward obtained is derived from the act of performing the activity itself.
The experiences as autotelic respond primarily to the internal provisions of conscience to avoid anxiety and boredom, bringing order to the confusion of the mind.
The optimal experience is that which we enjoy as an end in it, it is a process that occurs in each person and that does not depend on what happens in the world, but on the way that individual assimilates it.
There are some common elements about the moments of greatest enjoyment, it does not matter if you are a young teacher in Africa, or you are climbing Mount Everest, if you are a doctor who is in the Amazon Rainforest , the description of what they feel when they live an experience of this kind is very similar. It can be presented in eight features that together allow you to better understand your experience.

  1. Challenge that requires skills
    We enjoy to the maximum of an activity, when the challenge that is presented to us is in balance with our abilities that is to be in this state it is necessary that the activity that we are doing, not on pass our skills, since otherwise we would be doing something that we dislike.
  2. Concentration and Focus
    In this state people have a high level of concentration and focus, their only objective becomes the fulfillment of that activity. For example, when reading a book is made or really interests us and you want to read, when a person enters this state, all his concentration and focus is on completing the activity reason that state.
  3. Clear goals
    At this point we refer to that when we are in this state, we always have a mint to meet , to make the activity has an objective, we reach that state we want to meet a goal, for example an Olympic skater who goes to the Olympic Games Representing your country has the goal of bringing a medal with you.
  4. Direct and immediate feedback
    We must be clear that when we carry out an activity, that takes us to that state, we do not focus on what the results are, but on the satisfaction that it gives us and in turn we can learn from it. For example, a surgeon who performs a heart operation develops a greater knowledge and understanding of what he is doing while performing the operation.
  5. There is no space for other information
    When we are in this state, the only information that occupies our mind is the activity that we are doing, we do not think about anything else, in addition to what we are doing, we only want to perform our task as best as possible, and for that we leave aside, any other information that is not relevant to what we are doing.
  6. A feeling of personal control over the situation or activity
    When we are in this flow, we do not have control over what the results may be, and that is what makes the activity exciting, the results that can be achieved can be very different from one environment to the other. It is this in turn that makes it exciting to be in this flow. The results may not be the same when we repeat this activity. Of course we can not forget that in this state the result will be positive.
  7. Loss of the feeling of self- condition
    When we are in this, we are not in our usual condition, we are in a moment, where the only thing that is important is the realization of the activity that gave way to this state, we come to have a greater understanding of the environment that surrounds us, since we do not have the limitations related to our personality, we can see a more global whole.
  8. Distortion of the sense of time
    When we find ourselves in this flow we lose the notion of time, depending on the activity and complexity, we can say that it happened too fast, or that it is very slow. Example a physicist who is developing a formula, can spend hours looking at the board, observing what will be his next step to develop the formula in an efficient way where he develops the formula efficiently and gets as a result his effective resolution, a gymnast, who he finds himself performing a practice and must maintain the same movement for a few seconds, considers that time passes too slowly and that he may not achieve the resolution of the exercise.

Conditions of Enjoyment

You tend to think that reaching this state is fortuitous, but the truth is that not, it requires an initial effort which has cost to make to get there.
There are really activities to raise this flow state, as well as certain characteristics that help achieve it.
What refers to the first aspect refers to the fact that many of the activities carried out by man, are intended to achieve enjoyment, which are made by the simple fact of performing them. For example when you going to a temple to pray.
In the second aspect, it could be said that the primordial characteristic that man has to reach this state could be that he has a firm purpose to carry out this activity and has the necessary tools that will allow him to carry it out with the greatest efficiency, in order to obtain the greatest benefit.

The form of the Enjoyment

If we become aware of the capabilities of the body and learn to put order in them, we will achieve harmony in abilities.
In conditions of physical activity, to reach the flow; muscle and mind must be in balance, a physical activity can be totally unpleasant or can be a huge source of enjoyment, if you are willing to control and cultivate it, to achieve greater complexity and greater benefit.
To reach the ideal experience is indispensable to pay attention to the stimuli that come to our senses. Some of the best experiences are generated within the mind, when our thinking skills face an appropriate challenge. Whenever we face something new we propose to our mind an internal challenge whose resolution is a source of enjoyment. For example, there are individuals who, when listening to a sound, for the first time and can identify and compose something totally new from what I hear.
However, anyone can become a dilettante in many areas, developing enough skills to find delight in many of the things that the body and mind can do.
