Fundraising for a STEEM Developer in Need - Help Me Continue Development & Relocate
Being a non Steemit Inc developer focused on STEEM related projects can be troublesome at times. Simple things most developers take for granted such as a wage, guaranteed paycheck and having infrastructure operating costs covered simply aren't something I'm privy.
While I'm grateful for every upvote on my post I get, it's simply not adding up to what my expenses are a month to run all the projects, put a roof over my head and feed myself.
I've been basically full time on STEEM the past half year. I regret absolutely no part of it!
Some Backstory on the Situation
For a while I've been wanting to move out of the village I currently reside and into the city.
As of January 1st, 2017 I've got to be out of the place I currently live. While it's unfortunate circumstance and as much as I absolutely hate moving in the winter my current living situation isn't working out and a move to the city that's been planned for the past few months now needs to be rushed. In the end my roommate and I had a disagreement about sharing bills and who's responsibility it is to cover costs due to negligence on the landlord's part.
While I've no problem paying my fair share of the bills when communist ideals were pressed against me and I found myself paying for everyone else's resource usage on top of my own all while supplying everyone with free internet access I eventually had enough and simply couldn't justify it anymore.
A Request for Aid From the STEEM Network
Simply put: I don't have enough money to move into the city, let alone pay my server costs.
While I've got the next little while covered for server costs I'm slowly bleeding out money.
I've been homeless before in the winter.. That doesn't really scare me all that much. But it's certainly harder to get things done when you're constantly looking for a place to couch surf.
Working tireless hours developing all sorts of projects for the STEEM network has been very rewarding in the sense that I know I'm working towards a greater good for all of us.
While I know I'm not the fastest nor most skilled developer that the network has to offer I've one thing that many folks lack. That thing being dedication. I'm dedicated to the STEEM network, the various projects I'm developing for it as well as the people using the network and the community behind it.
I'd Rather Work Than Receive a Handout
While I am pretty darn busy with my own project development at the moment sadly these projects aren't really bringing in any income. So if you've got any project that you'd like a hand with and wouldn't mind tossing me some STEEM or SBD I'd really appreciate the chance to work.

Good luck and steem on,
Mike
Thank you mike! Very much appreciated sir.
Although it's never a great time to move, sucks I'll be spending most of christmas time holidays looking for a place to go before year end. Oh well, Something tells me this is one of those blessing in disguise situations and will likely end up for the better.
Thanks again. <3
coudl you describe what kind of coiding skills (languages) do you have ?
My go to languages are Javascript/Node.js, PHP, HTML5, CSS.
I'm mostly a web developer. Although design and graphics is another part of what I do.
power down
I am currently. However I've no intention of selling STEEM if price gets much lower than it currently is.
Even at current price rate if it stayed stable I'd only be able to power down a little over a BTC worth of STEEM this month. While this is close to my budget goal for moving sacrificing that much SP will only end up haunting me I feel.
By time the next power down cycle rolls around STEEM price could be significantly lower than it is now. :/
I have written a program that lets you post to the blockchain and it is WYSIWYG. It's called Steem Edit. I would love to get say even $100 a month in donations so I can build a computer from time to time. So if there are generous people out there feel free to donate steem dollars to me I sure would appreciate it. I need a new computer for installation testing.
Yet I feel Steem Edit has been obsoleted by other very talented programmers. I don't think I will make anything out of Steem Edit. Such is the life of a programmer who writes software for free. I have learned a bunch about steem related APIs in the process and I am working on a project that does have a business model albiet a shaky one.
You probably should just get a job people will pay for. That's life 😎
Well, that's part of moving into the city.
I currently live in a village with no job prospects or opportunity other than web work.
donate 25 bro
good luck
Thank you very much sir! That will help out immensely . <3
I've only been here a couple of weeks, but this community is fabulous. I'll donate, though I'm afraid I'm a small fry in the steem dollar department, I've been powering up since I learned how :) I did a bit of surfing through your page and I can see your important here. I also just found about witnesses recently and have been trying to go through them to make voting choices, and you have mine there too! Good luck Klye, I hope you find a place!
It truly is a great community! You'd be hard pressed to find such a great group of folks on any other website all helping each other and being civilized for the most part. It's beautiful.
Absolutely! Sorry, I was out all day, how is house hunting? :)
