Why writers need to stake their claim in Steemit's content Wild West
There are very few places on the internet that haven't been touched and exploited for its full potential. Every corner has been mined, plundered and dismantled time and time again.
Thought leaders and writers have few outlets to reach an audience that’s not only cheap but also engages people.
Experts say cryptocurrencies are the Wild West of the finance industry. Much like the American west, Steemit is proving to be the newest frontier that's teeming with opportunities.
But in order to take advantage of any opportunity you need a plan and some skill.
As crypto prospectors see an opportunity to make "easy" money by writing and curating content, I suspect many find themselves lost in a desert with no way forward. The fact remains: prospectors aren't writers.
Writers, freelancers, and editors now have a real chance to use their skills to stake out their territory to an entirely new audience willing to engage and be persuaded in an environment built around rewards.
As more users flock to the platform, the demand for quality content will rise until the bar is set for only the best content. Curators will be more discerning and content writers will have to think much harder on how they want to engage their audiences.
Now is the time for writers to stake their claim before the veins of gold dry up forever.
