Writer's tip of the day
I hear this one a lot, yet I still struggle with it at times. It can be hard to let scenes, characters or even entire chapters go.
Stay strong, fellow writers, and never be afraid to cut! If it's not necessary, then perhaps it doesn't belong.
As the old saying goes, "Kill your Darlings."
Here's a great example from Joe Hill's Heart-Shaped Box.
Best of luck with your writing!
When I used to write regularly for a living, one of my editors, a New York editor living in Greece told me if I ever got stuck with a sentence or paragraph to simply write it another way. It always worked. As someone who has written lots of screenplays rewriting is part of that. Good post.
