Crisp face of beauty - History in verses

in #writing6 years ago

1856, Russia. A 70-year-old man applies a rather strange cream on his face, scattering it and leaving stubble of branches and small ingredients of it as it covers the entirety of his face. He looks in the mirror and exclaims: "I will continue being young until they do not know if I died as an old man or some other cause, I do not intend to leave a horrendous corpse with wrinkles."

Destiny knocks on his door
It is a letter with numbers and letters
Its content seems far-reaching
The poor old man discovers he has cancer

He is unsure of his problems
He takes refuge in alcohol and its creams
Wants to be a child again without worry
Jumping, playing and humming his songs

These sad news affected him greatly
But he denies that others feel sorry
-Nobody cares about an ugly old man- he said proudly
-More cream, more life, more beauty and less gray-

The old man reclines on one of the many wooden walls that serve as pillars of his house. It crunches. He takes out a mirror from a small pocket and observes ... between all the thick liquid, flakes of ingredients and skin, he glimpses a small wrinkle on his forehead. He tries not to frown but it is inevitable; he is angry. By doing this, more wrinkles are added to his forehead. The old man suddenly gets up and searches throughout his house looking for some "miraculous" cream and then ... he finds it; Horrid bottle full of caustic soda. Body covered with a delicate brush.

He applies the liquid on his face, desperately. With each milliliter he felt even more vexed, more gallant, younger. That bottle was his beloved elixir.

His skin began to burn. He started laughing. If we can cry in happiness, why can not we laugh in sadness? He felt that he was the twenty-something that he was a long time ago.

It's hard to describe the joy I feel
They do not know how to discern where I come from
To many pariahs will think this is non-sense
But I do not care what the rest think

The skin begins to crack and begins to rave product of the inhalation of the vile toxic liquid.

If I die, I know I'll leave a beautiful corpse
Totally delicate and in beautiful repose
Not like you, ignorant of beauty!
You think you are great?, the cherry of the pie?

Call me lucky!, I discovered the elixir
Although to do it, I found a frenzy
I know I have little time left, it's safe
But how much time does this world have left?

The old man lies on the floor looking towards a nearby window. The moon settles on a night full of unknowns stars. They all see him and illuminate his emaciated face.

I say "Goodbye" to you, beings of the underworld
Very soon this beautiful face will stop seeing you
I say "Hello" to you, inhabitants of this cosmos
For another life alone, full of hardships and monsters
