5 more movies that I recommend you watch!

Since my last one of these went over pretty well, I thought I'd do another! I'll link the previous one at the end of the post for anyone interested in seeing that! 

Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016)

My opinion on this film: I actually did a full review on this movie awhile ago, which would be a lot more in depth than writing a few short sentences on how I felt. The very basic premise of this film is that a boy and his step father get stranded in the wilderness of New Zealand, and a manhunt gets ordered for them. It however, is much, much more than that. I'll copy/paste an excerpt from my review and a link to it for anyone who is really interested. 

" This movie balances comedy with drama perfectly, and produces emotions that you weren't expecting to feel. The duo meet so many interesting and sometimes insane characters, and they build off one another and grow into better people. Some scenes will make you misty eyed, while others have you cackling like a madman. I can only say please check this movie out if you've got the time, it's well worth it! In Bruges (2008)

My opinion on this film: Quite possibly the best dark comedy film that's ever been made, at least in my humble opinion. This film has some ingenious writing for the script, and the humor in this film is nothing short of wonderful if you have a dark sense of humor like I do. This film has breathtaking cinematography at times, and gives great performances from Gleeson and Farrel.  The story centers around two hitman that have been ordered by their boss to go hide and relax in a small town. 

I won't spoil anything much for you, but to give an example of the bizarre humor of the movie there's a scene where the main characters are doing cocaine with a dwarf and prostitutes, while discussing how the Vietnamese would come out on top during a racewar. This movie is an engaging, intricate, tragedy/comedy that can be thrilling at one moment, and then filled with ridiculousness the next. I highly, highly recommend this to anyone a fan of the genre. (The director for this is the same guy who wrote/made Seven Psychopaths, another brilliant dark comedy.) 

Green Room (2015)

My opinion on this film: This movie is a dark, gritty, visceral thriller/suspense/horror film. The movie is about a touring punk rock band who's a bit down on their luck. They stay off the grid for the most part, and only play live shows without recording much of any of their music. They end up at a nightclub that turns out to be a neo nazi hangout, and witness a murder on their way out. After that, it becomes a fight for survival for the characters. 

This film gives some amazing performances, starring Patrick Stewart as the main bad guy and Anton Yelchin as the main character with other great cast members. There are some very dark, brutal scenes and the suspense gets built up so well that it leaves you holding your breath at times. There are some parts of the movie that leave you feeling depressed, because of how dark it gets. This movie will easily get under your skin. There is some great artistry here, great writing, and at times good humor. If you're a fan of horror movies, definitely check this one out. 

Train to Busan (2016)

My opinion on this film: This is another film which I've done a full review on. The premise with this is a simple one, which as been used a lot. However, this film does an excellent, fresh job on it. It's a zombie flick taking place in South Korea, where a man and his daughter have boarded a bullet train while the outbreak has started. Tickled (2016)

My opinion on this film: Tickled is by far the most bizarre, yet enchanting documentary that I have ever seen. The premise of it is quite strange. Journalist David Farrier stumbles across a mysterious tickling competition online. As he delves deeper into the competitions, he comes up against fierce resistance, which leads to him finding a story strange than fiction. It's hard to talk about this film without spoiling anything. However, this is not a film which you'll forget anytime soon once you watch it. It's fun, exciting, at times it can be somewhat freaky. It's a glimpse into something so disturbingly weird, that you'll be shocked it even exists. I definitely recommend this one to anyone that likes documentary films.
