At least I still got my cave [Day 45]
At least I still got my cave
There's nothing people love to hate
So much as people,
And the world's full up of 'em.
They come in all colors, shapes, and sizes;
So you can pick whatever bugs you the most
And slap 'em on a most wanted poster
On your bulletin board.
"Wanted: People Who Are Not Like Me."
It'll read. Maybe get your buddy
That draws good
To put a nice little cartoon
At the top so you remember—
Your enemy's unlike you.
And you'll think:
"That's the problem is,
All the other people out there
Making the wrong decisions.
And now the world's too full up;
Full with all the rubbish and passion,
Full with all the crazy ideas.
Full of chemicals and sickness,
Zealots and thugs.
That's the main thing,
All the people's problems.
The world's just so full up."
And,
You know,
You might be half-right.
(I know you're half-wrong.)
But with the world so full up,
How come there's still so much space,
Like the cave of my heart?

The world's just so full up.
Great poetry @d-pend
The night is the darkest before the dawn.
We need to feel fed up in order to gradually shift those emotions and take some action in order to change the world for better. We need to feel on our skin that sickness to actually realise and get to know what kind of world we want to create and be part of.
This cave all of us have, only so many of us did not discover it yet, because of being ignorant of ourselves. That cave is the safe place where we remember who we are and how much we can do. Human being is not aware how much burden can carry on his back. We are much stronger than we know.
That is so true in my experience @mandalaflower. I think most who come into awareness of what (not who) they are first much reach a point of disillusionment with the world as it is, before being able to realize that beyond our perception, all is as it must be. We are certainly much grander than most ever guess!
Daniel
True. Ignoring the world and thinking only for ourselves is a sign that our awareness is still so low. The more awareness, the more we understand we are part of something greater than us and we need to take active role to contribute and participate. As cells in our body do.
most times I ask myself, can this world really be saved? from incessant hate, jealousy and cruelty, can peace and love shine through?, can sanity be restored? The world naturally is still very large enough for every single person to exist and thrive, but with this your poem @d-pend I realized more that the world being so full is a psychological state of mind and the world being so spacious is also a psychological state of mind, I @shollstun I STILL GOT MY CAVE nice one bro... this is Light.
Hey, you saw all that here in my poem? I'm honored @shollstun. I appreciate your perceptive comment! Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful day, or night, as it may be.
Daniel
You're welcome.. keep steeming

A cave as dark as it can be a refuge for a soul in search of heat, the world is full of shit but not everything is shit, many people will want to enter the cave and most will leave, they were only looking for a shelter, but maybe some stay to take care and turn it into a home, so the caves in the heart are the home of whoever wants to stay.
"I hate people who hate"
"The world is full of them."
Yeah. I can't ignore the news and the actions of our leaders recorded in history. That's why I'm looking to make some non offensive constructive comedy as my next level of mining the heart. I may become a gadfly in the process.
I Loved this piece @d-pend.
Now who is mining the heart?
I was just thinking of getting into drawing cartoons. I looked at some software and just decided to use a pencil and markers and get my scanner fixed.
Have a great weekend!!
very nice poem, I understood the overall Idea
but I couldn't understand this part :
It'll read. Maybe get your buddy
That draws good,
I think it will be better if you used
It'll read. Maybe find your buddy
another thing really I couldn't understand the rhythm, but it's normal I'm not skilled
and this is just my opinion
Hey @khalifandro! This is written in "colloquial english," so when it says "get your buddy" it means "ask your friend." It's a kind of slang. Normally I don't write this way, but I was in a particularly odd mood last night when I wrote it. I appreciate your feedback!
Beautiful poem as usual @d-pend :) Looking forward for the voice recording :) It really touch my heart because this past week i have been feeling like this: :(
You are right brother. This life is full of hatred, we have to our life and so no to people who see nothing good in what we have made. The poetic devices employed in the poem convey the message quite well such as repetition of certain words and the rhythm that run through the poem
Hell is other people, said Sartre. He got it wrong; hell is not having plenty of space —in the ‘cave of our heart’— for Love. We are each other... 🙏🏼
You have sense of humor and poetic skills are supremely impressive and persuading me to write like you one day. Yes, off course your every single word/phrase provides me guidance to improve myself. I simply loved these lines Daniel <3
Thank you so much for this wonderful poem :)
