Thanks for your article. I love your 3rd point - Don't be ashamed to self promote because no one else will. This is so true and I'm also an author and have experienced that... "thinking others would help promote me". :)

But as for your 4th point, I feel we need to actually write from our strengths and at most times, our areas of strength might not be something the masses may want to read. Just my perspective.
