In The Dessert
I woke up, but couldn’t move. My dried mouth choked on sand. I didn’t feel my legs. Grains of sand irritated my eyes, but I couldn’t pick them out. My hands were smothered up to the shoulders.
Sand hugged me and kissed in its dry kisses. It was a real closeness,
I hadn’t felt like that for a long time.
I noticed a helicopter hanging over the desert, but wished the petting would never end.
