Hold my Hand, Grandpa (Original Poem and Photo)
Take a walk with me Grandpa, and hold my hand.
There are things to teach me, things I don't yet understand.
Show me how to be patient, gentle, loving, and polite.
Reassure me when I get things wrong with a smile that's warm and bright.
Encourage me to imagine, to have fun, explore, and play.
Tell me your great stories, after a long fun-filled day.
And when it's time to say goodnight, after I'm all ready for bed,
Sit next to me, Grandpa, let me hold your hand, while I rest my sleepy head.
