All Those Coins: A Short and Twisted Tale

'So what happened to him then?'

Mike looked out the window at the vagrant rooting in the trash outside the mall.

'Oh he's famous man. Totally famous. Dude had it all.'

'Yeah but what happened to him. I mean look at him?'

The vagrant had found a half eaten burger and was tearing at it with his teeth.

'He had all these coins. Like millions of them, worth millions too. Some say billions.'

'What, like gold or something?'

'Nah not gold. Like pretend coins. Internet money. There were a lot of them back then.'

'So what happened to them?'

Mike took a sip of his coke through his straw.

'Well one day people realised that they weren't worth anything and so they lost all their value. That was it, poof. Gone.'

Mike took another slurp from his coke till it gurgled empty.

'Don't be sorry for him. He should have sold like everyone else but he couldn't. Claimed he was a huddler or something.'

They both looked out at the vagrant who was trying to light a stained, half-smoked cigarette he had found.

Mike shook his head.

'Fucking loser.'
