Every inch of this rock is a piece of Art
What you are looking at is the ceiling inside the main complex.
It is about 9 ft in length and the innermost rectangle is about 5 ft in length.
Unfortunately the main complex has no lights and makes photography a lot harder.
Since this was 25 ft above the ground it was very hard for invaders to destroy it with swords and hammers. They tried throwing stones to break it but didn't do much damage so they quit. One can say that this face of the sanctum remained less disturbed. Another majestic thing about this place it that it withstood a massive earthquake hundreds of years ago which nullified the surrounding areas, surprisingly (not surprisingly) only this building withstood the quake like nothing ever happened.
I'll be explain more about this shrine in my future posts, trust me when I tell you guys that these artists were masters of construction and design. All at least a 1000 years ago. All the huge disasters it withstood tells us something,
The shrine was intentionally built to last forever.
