It is recurrent the presence of a woman you dream of or of whom you do not remember the face in your stories, @johnjgeddes. The celebration of the Day of the Dead is a tradition to keep alive in memory those loved ones who have already left. In my country people used to go to the cemetery with flowers and candles at night to light them and let their souls find their way. Now it is impossible to do so, each family looks for ways to worship their dead from home. I can say that it is true that there is a special connection with the spirits that wander before they leave definitively. This is a topic on which many discussions open up. Greetings, @johnjgeddes.
Thanks for the explanation @aurodivys. I was raised in a liturgical church that would keep a roll of the names of the dead and pray for them on November first - some people would actually pray to the dead, a practice I didn't follow
