Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
I don't know what's going on with me. When I'm at work or elsewhere, I have the itch to sit down and write something. Maybe a short story or so. Maybe a commentary article or whatever. Maybe a pathophysiologic process of certain disease. I always have that sort of motivation of, "When I get home, I'd start writing something."
And when I am home, tired from work, take a bath, eat something, sleep. On my off days, I'd lay around in my bed thinking of what I am going to write. I would sit down, browse the internet, watch YouTube, play some games. And before I know it, my off days are gone and I'm off to work.
It's become a cycle. A habit maybe, which is frightening. I don't want to be like this, grow old and have the regrets of not trying harder.
When the idea strikes, take a moment to write it down. But don't wait until you get home to work on it. Find ways to use spare minutes. Use a phone notes app or other device. Or an old fashioned pad and pen. Write when waiting for others to show up for a meeting, write in the doctor's waiting room. Write on the bus. Use a dictation app and dictate it on your drive home. And for those evenings, make writing the thing you do first, even if just 5-10 minutes.
Thanks! I would take a note of that and try harder. Have an awesome one!
