RE: Wonders of the World #2: Stonehenge
I've never been to Stonehenge but It's pretty ingenious the way people were able to move such large objects back then without machines. In some cases it's actually quite surprising how easy it is. I watched a documentary a few years back about a guy who's hobby it was to move large objects (massive stones, sheds...etc) across his property by himself. He would place round stones under the objects and rotate them them across his yard. The trick was, the objects were kept in a constant state of being off balance by the round stones below them so they could be turned easy with leverage. The man was able to move a barn from one end of the property to the other by himself. It was pretty neat.

Very interesting! It must have been a very good documentary. There are many theories on how it was done. This is also kind of similar to moving of the stones in Egypt to make those pyramids. They must have either had pulleys, or as you said, some sort of moving technique. But I'm really surprised that this technique hasn't been recorded in any kind of written form for us to know on how they did it. Sometimes it just baffles me.
