After all I think they totally deserved it. In the group stage they didn't really impressed me, but from that on they have been really stable and never really close to lose a game. When they got their lead against Uruguay and Belgium they "closed the games" and today they wasn't at their best in he first half and didn't play well but an own goal and penalty (in Croatia the will discuss that penalty forever and ever) got them a 2-1 lead at half time. In second half Croatia tried their best but they couldn't find a way through that young (no one older than 25) 4-man defence all though that spurs keeper did try his best to give Croatia some extra hope.

20 years ago Zinedine Zidane lifted the World Cup trophy for the first time for France and at that time Kylian Mbappé (he fully deserved to get that price for "best young player" ) wasn't even born. Didier Deshamps played in that 1998-winning team and is now the third person to win World Cup both as a player and manager. (The other two are:
Mario Zagallo (Brazil) and Franz Beckenbauer (Germany) )

With 8 players in todays starting lineup born in the 1990ś and with a forward that hasn't managed to take a single shot on goal in the whole tournament and with a keeper that always has a big error in him you could easily say France wouldn't make it. Boys against men in a World Cup final where experience could be the most important factor. It doesn't sound like party party but at the end the french players really stepped up and showed they couldn't care less about things like this. They believed in themselves, worked an played like men, and showed the whole world that they are the best football team in world today.
