Miss World crowning: Political move or diplomacy?
The recently held Miss World beauty pageant kept the eyes glued of millions, if not billions, of viewers worldwide. They anticipated the win of their own beauty queen. The declaration of an Indian as the winner raised many eyebrows. China, being a rival of India allowed the crowning of the Indian in their very own country. Many thought it was a political move. I personally felt that the answer of Manushi Chillar was far better than the rest of the competitors. Even if the crowning of an Indian was a political move, it was done to avert wars amongst the neighbouring countries.
Even if it's true that China manipulated the pageant, it isn't a malicious thing to improve relations with another country. Id much rather have this be the kind of scandel my government was associated with.
Absolutely but think about the rest of the competitors. If it was preplanned then the whole hoisting of pageant seems a waste.
