FINALLY -UN gets a world leader -climate change activist- Jacinda Ardern {The interview is priceless}
Jacinda Ardern Prime Minister of New Zealand, addressed the general debate of the 73rd Session of the General Assembly of the UN. Here are some excerpts:
" Our action in this global challenge(climate change) remains optional. But the impact of inaction Does Not. Nations like Tuvalu, The Marshall islands, Kiribati small countries that have contributed the least to climate change are and will suffer the full force af the warming planet. If my Pacific neighbors do not have the option of opting out of the effects of climate change. Why should we be able to opt out of taking action to stop it...In NewZealand we are willing to play our part.We will not issue any further Natural gas and Oil exploration permits. We have set a goal for a 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY GENERATION by 2035... Rising sea levels present the single biggest threat to the nations in our region."
