RE: Under Pressure! Managing Deadlines and Work When You're Mostly a Creative Slacker
Ohhh I hate deadlines!! As soon as I've got a deadline I get all nervous about it, and this nervousness doesn't disappear until I've done whatever needs doing. It kind of just nags at the back of my mind.
For this reason, I'm a big proponent of super high level organisation, and I prefer to work on my own. I used to do client work in my field (SEO and writing), but just found it soooo stressful that I opted out and now just build my own websites and write my own stuff.
I have actually spent months perfecting my own organisational system that uses a combination of daily to do lists and the Eisenhower matrix, along with weekly goal setting for the different roles I play (i.e. mother, wife, friend, entrepreneur, steemit user, SEO etc etc.)
Also, I find I have to be super organised with planning my down time, because otherwise I will just push, push, push, work, work, work... and end up burning out.
Cheers for the great post!
Thanks @johleen... I definitely read shades of myself here; I have almost always made up for what I lack in determination and drive by being really well organized. I'm also very much a "solitary practitioner." As they said back in school-- "does not play well with others."
