Live to work or Work to live?
As I whisked pass a shop in the neighbourhood on my way out early this morning, I heard one of two women sitting in front say to the other, "Thank GOD it's Friday" she then chuckled and continued with a disturbing tone "...How I wish today is Friday".
Dressed in a neatly cut, high profile designer threaded two piece suit, one can quickly deduce her job is a routine 9 to 5.
Meanwhile, in the heart of one out of every three undergraduates is the desire to secure a regular paying job; another case of those who are in wants out and those who are out wants in.
Something must be missing. Why exactly do people work?
To earn money?
Again, about three out of every five people hate their job but they work hard to maintain status quo, keep the job and earn some money.
Of course earning money is one of the reasons why people should work but until your reason for working spans beyond eking a living, you are merely surviving.
Nothing is frustrating as one waking early in the morning, beating traffic to get to work on time, dealing with very annoying colleagues, wearing forced smile to impress a superior, keeping busy with one eye on the job and the other glued to time device like bad referee impatiently waiting to get timed out and the cycle continues.
Working for money means abandoning your purpose and assisting another fulfil his on his terms in exchange for a few coins.
Well, we can blame it on those who taught us that life is all about ‘the money’ because they lied.
Whether you are already working your dream job or yet to, whether you are already pursuing a University degree or about to with a hope of getting a dream job upon graduation, start working on ways to create and add value to any society you find yourself else, the same dream job will become a nightmare.
Those who work on adding value scarcely get wearied. The world is facing hard times, don’t make it harder for yourself.

we work, because we are taught to work , in order to be a valuable person and use the money to live, in other words, sell time for money. Who is smart, makes money but doesn't work
