night I was rather busy re-arranging all my stuff.

My PC was almost completely disassembled, and some messy bits of wiring were properly routed neatly (well, it could be better back inside the back behind the motherboard, but it's ok, even if I had to sorta squish the back of the case on - yes, I'll fix it before I move it again, for sure, maybe even sooner, I don't want some rough corner shorting something and frying something).

In the process, I liberated an AMD SSD from my workstation and installed it in the Sony Vaio E series laptop you see sitting there, it has now got a nice Ubuntu 17.04 installation on it as well. I wanted to get that thing back in action in case I had some reason to work offsite with a PC (it's not very nice compared to my workstation, but it's ok).

Note that I have stacked the two monitors at different distances, and the one in the rear is 1920x1080, so it's better to have it further away because its' positively pixelly compared to the 4k in front. I figure that it is good having two different distances to exercise my focus muscles and lenses a bit like how in a car you focus ahead and also at the mirror. Many holistic eye doctor types say that simply working the focus muscles helps you keep your vision good. I switch focus in under half a second... I think it's just good exercise.

Also, both monitors turn out to be Dell units. This also means they have the same controls, more or less, I didn't even realise the one at the back has capacitative buttons with the same set of 4, with onscreen indicators showing what they do. So I can also set them to have the exact same colour scheme and brightness, almost exactly, though they are entirely different units. Both are properly calibrated - I can definitely highly recommend Dell monitors. I was told they use Samsung LCD units in them too. The full HD one uses a super fancy IPS type as well, just like the ones on smartphone displays.

Plus, the rear one has 'fun' stuff like steemit, facebook, email, and such, more or less, the low res monitor is now my 'social' display, and the one in the front has DIV related work, on the left is the Git repo and on the right is the README.md I have been working on.

The rear monitor stands on top of the subwoofer from the sound system, and you can see I have positioned the left and right speakers at the corners of the desk. You may also notice that there seems to be almost no cables visible anywhere - I decided that the strange elastic-strap secured nylon mesh thing that sits underneath the table must be for cable tidying purposes, so all of that is tucked away under there, all the cables from the computer are mostly routed via the monitor (using some SS USB3 cable doodle) and you can faintly see my BV6000 plugged into a cable coming out of the back of the monitor, and there is another cable for the Sony Cybershot camera (that I took the photo with) that is now also coming out of the back of the monitor.

I decided to take the shot from high up and towards the kitchen area as well, so you can see what I mean about how much bloody sunlight comes into my apartment in the morning. From the moment it passes out of the shadow of the building to the east of my block, for 3 hours in that position where the seat is, the sun shines directly on me. Even when I have one of the windows closed as you can see on the right there (and you can also see the aluminium foil I covered the window with so I can choose not to have that heat coming in).

I just wanted to update, since I have significantly changed my layout, as a part of an effort to get myself into work mode.

I don't give any warnings anymore. Flagged and muted.

Finally some one who flags..

Yeah, I have been getting into it pretty hardcore this last 6 weeks since I started detoxing everything... It's one of my indulgences to smack people down. That and orange juice. Thank god I'm not allergic to my probably favourite drink ever.

I rather saw it wasn't needed. But (imo) it has to be done.

I think much of the hesitation to flag comes from fear of retaliation.

Building up rep takes a long time, an awful long time if you don't post often!

I agree it takes forever..

However it should be the "norm" especially those bs bot messages. Use your bot for the good or shut up :D

Sad that it is coming to this.

Regarding your post though, I have a similar situation, where I need to keep the shutters on my window closed for most of the day.

The amount of light coming into your room seems blinding though!

Yup, it's pretty freakin intense. There's no way I'm short on vitamin D, assuming the enzymes required are there.
