Mother Nature - Poetry

A hard and keen day upon the earth
Is silent. The world grows dim and dies,
And without the spirit the soul dies.
But the spirit lives forever and ever.
Holding the forest as a child holds a balloon,
It travels across the sky and the seas;
--
The spirit sleeps in great forests and climbs on high
In fairyland, where the green is green and flower is flower.
The leaf is the heart of the tree and the flower the strength of the flower,
The wood is the tree and the leaves are the leaves,
Trees live longer, and flowers do happier things,
But the spirits in the wild places and the mountains live
Where they are most happy
One day we'll all be able to live there someday
