Dying Moments - Poetry

I don't care about your silly morals
I want my pain to end
Wish you could see that now
And then watch how this thing comes together
I'm glad I got to die
But I don't want it to mean anything
It doesn't matter how we go, it doesn't matter how we die
Or if I can feel it at all
I want my pain to end
If only for me
--
And as I light my last cigarette
And die like a hero
I guess that makes it all the more worth it
Because I was free
And in this world nobody can hurt me anymore
