Distressed Rustic Lichtenberg Dining Table

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I'm just going to show you some before and after pictures. I DO NOT Recommend anyone doing this type of burning, unless, you know someone, who is very experienced in this type of wood burning, to help you build one, and knows EXACTLY what they are doing. People have been killed using these types of machines. But, if you're smart, get someone who's very experienced with building, and operating these machines, be very well insulated, and cautious at all times, it can be much safer, and very rewarding.![002 (2).JPG] I went a little overboard on the tabletop. But, it's my first one. Lots, and lots of wood bleaching after the burns were cleaned using a brass bristle brush over the all of the burns. Dry brushing is the first thing you must do after burning. Pay special close attention to all of the burn crevasses, and not so much on the branching, as you want to leave that as raw as possible. Also, when doing the dry brushing, having an air compressor, with a Lever Blow Gun attachment, it's an absolute MUST HAVE. It keeps the surface grooves from collecting the black charred wood, from getting into other clean grains of wood. I don't have a compressor, lol, but, I do have a Rigid Wet/Dry Vacuum, that can also be a blower. It works even better in my opinion, as it's constantly blowing, on the area you have it aimed. So you can brush, and not have to stop to blow the area out, then continue.
This picture was taken at night, but it was right after completion of the table. You can see I went for a Rustic/Distressed/Lichtenberg Figure look. I left both North and South parts of the table, just sanded, and wood bleached, no burns.
