It is the day that commemorates the movement of women’s rights and recognizes achievements of women globally regardless of their religion, race, color, creed, nationality, language and culture. International Women’s Day came about due to several historical occurrences. It symbolizes the long public struggle for women’s rights.
The first National Women’s Day was celebrated On February 28th, 1909 in United States to honor women’s protest against the working condition during a strike in 1908.The movement was such a success that the following year in 1910, more than a million women and men in Europe participated in demonstrations to demand equality for women.
