Women worldwide are opening up about their stories of sexual harassment on social media
If you are a regular social media user, chances are pretty high that you might have come across Hashtag ‘Me Too’. A campaign has started on Twitter and Facebook, where women from round the world are opening up about the instances of sexual harassment that they have faced in their life. It has initiated aftermath of Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein’s fall from grace over allegations of rape and molestation. Since then, the twitter has been flooded with just two Words- ‘Me Too’.
From women celebrities, to common people, everybody is opening up about their horrible story, or atleast admitting that they too have been a victim of this crime. They have been sharing about how they have been groped, verbally abused, molested and raped by bosses, teachers and family members.
The hashtag has been used over half a million times on Twitter, and more than 6 million people are discussing “Me too” on Facebook.
