Who inspires you? The woman in Red ?
This year I am inspired to make 50 abstract portraits. Each portrait highlights a characteristic rather than a likeness in face or form of someone inspirational so the viewer can identify themselves as the person in the portrait.
Here is the first - called the “woman in red” - a woman who excels in an alpha male world.
I have painted a variety of people- ranging from the wonderful and beautiful Dame Diana Rigg, the multitalented Scott who shows us the grit and humility needed to reinvent ourselves , the inspirational former lead ballerina of the Hong Kong Ballet, Lindzay who took a risk at age 16, and the courageous Indian woman “Nirbhaya “ who is an icon of selflessness.
Every work had given me a realisation, an inspiration....
I need your help to bring to my attention inspirational people and what you admire about them. Please message me or write in the comments who you admire and why.
Why am I doing this?
For nearly 25 years I have lead a double life
As a trader by day, working in the dizzy world of high stakes.
As an artist by night, fulfilling my inner peace.
“Shivani the artist “ had a patron in “ Shivani the trader”
Until the tables turned.
by a caprice of fate I landed in a novel by Kaffka.i felt like Joseph K.
I refused to accept this bizarre fate, and continued my war for justice.
It is a war you can fight only when you have the truth within you and a powerful patron.
“Shivani the artist” became my patron guru and gave me strength to battle on....
every one of us goes through a similar cycle.....You may find your own path to deal with your battles which no doubt will be unique to you, but no matter what path you choose you need a powerful patron, a mentor and an inspiration.
I want to use my brush to speak up- showcase people who inspire us so we can strive to emulate them or make them avatars of our inner-selves so that no battle is unsurmountable .
