Though this not directly related to witness but price of STEEM, and @jerrybanfield is involved this idea may get notice. The best exchange right now is the Bittrex for Steem and Steem Dollar (SBD). The poloniex is holding transfer for months. There is no pair against fiat for STEEM other than STEEM/EURO at HitBTC where volume is non-existant. Also, HitBTC is halting transfers for months too.

I think if a couple of big exchanges has STEEM trades against USD, for example, Bittrex, STEEM trading will be much more fluid and attract more investors and traders. It is not quite convenient to trade or acquire STEEM with BTC. For example, if someone orders STEEM at $1.05 with BTC ($4000), his order will not be filled since BTC has dropped to $3200 though STEEM has dropped to $1.05 too. Therefore, I request @jerrybanfield to make a public request to Bittrex and HitBTC to make USDT/STEEM pair for traders and investors.

I have made requests to HitBTC and Bittrex but more of us do the same, it will push them to enact. Overall, it will be a boost for STEEM and STEEM will be less affected by BTC/ETH's big swings.
